Sound Notification: When a new message arrives, users hear it
Mar 3, 2026

Your AI agent is already doing its job — handling the question, maintaining context, sending the right response at the right moment. The conversation is working. The problem is attention. A user switches tabs, gets pulled into a meeting, and the agent's response sits there unread until the session expires and the work starts over.
Sound Notification plays an audio alert the moment a new agent message arrives while the user is on a different browser tab. On mobile, a push notification is sent instead.
How it works
- Tab-away alert: When a new message arrives and the user is not on the chat tab, an audio cue fires immediately. No manual checking required.
- Mobile push: On mobile devices, push notifications replace the audio alert so users are reached wherever they are on their device.
- Zero friction for the user: There is nothing to configure or opt into. The alert fires as part of the existing chat experience.
- SDK-level activation: Sound Notification is enabled through the React SDK web integration, giving teams control over rollout without additional infrastructure.
The conversation was already worth having. This makes sure it gets finished.
